30/11/2008  City of Norwich Half Marathon
Two of our newer members and one who has been around slightly longer seem to get quicker by the race. This was demonstrated by further PBs set by Wayne Gimblett and Martin Rowe and another close to PB by Paul Fullalove in the Norwich Half Marathon.
Paul Fullalove finished in 137th place, recording 1:29:46.
Wayne recorded 1:33:10, finishing 200th while Martin Rowe's time was 1:34:58, for 239th out of a total of 2045 finishers.

26/11/2008  CLUB BENEFITS FROM MARS REFUEL CHOCOLATE DRINK FUND

Hunts Athletic Club is celebrating after receiving a £500 donation from the MARS Refuel Chocolate Drink Fund.

The club has more than 250 members who regularly train in athletic events and compete in regional as well as national races. Every year, Hunts Athletic Club hosts a ten kilometre race in order to raise funds.

Ian Marshall, race director, says: “We are absolutely thrilled with the donation as we can now purchase a brand new Seiko stopwatch in order to maintain the fantastic standard at the club. The stopwatch will also be used at next year’s ten kilometre race”

23/11/2008  Hereward Relay
Hunts AC fielded 3 teams out of a total of over 130 in very challenging and changeable weather conditions with a mix of snow and heavy rain adding to the slippy, muddy off road terrain although those running the 4th stage were luckier as the sun made an appearance for them.

Provisionaly, our A Team finished 17th, Top Team 52nd and 1st Team 58th.

09/11/2008  Frostbite Friendly League - Race 2 - Bushfield
Both the Senior and Junior races enjoyed close to record fields in the second league race of the season - 489 in the Senior and 133 in the Junior.
Hunts AC's Seniors had 34 runners taking part - that's more like the number we should have after several races where we have scraped just over 20. The Juniors must have had a record turnout of 22 runners - fantastic!

Our Seniors finished in 4th position today and so have moved up to 4th place overall, just off 3rd by virtue of more running points.
Our Juniors finished 3rd, repeating their performance in the first race, and so remain in 3rd place overall.

Well done to all our runners and thank you to all our supporters.

We host the next race on 14 December so let's hope for another great turnout.

02/11/2008  Stevenage Half Marathon
Very good conditions greeted the 900 entrants in this well organised half marathon, with an overall flat course though with several challenging 'underpass' sections to negotiate.
Hunts AC was represented by four runners, one of whom was taking on his first half and which also produced another PB for one of our newer members.
Richard Heyes was the first club runner home in 155th place, recording 1:34:59, followed by Wayne Gimblett 1n 169th, in a new PB of 1:36:11 (bettering his time in the recent Great Eastern Half by three and a half minutes!). Kevin Baulk finished in 309th, 1:45:14 - his first half - and Stuart Reynolds completed the foursome in 335th in a time of 1:46:45.
